Not able to upgrade az cli

I'm trying to run command az upgrade in ev2 shell extension but failed. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Possible solution (Extracted from existing issue, might be incorrect; please verify carefully)

Solution 1:

As the error message indicates:

Err:8 https://dl.bintray.com/loadimpact/deb stable InRelease
403 Forbidden [IP: 3.124.176.138 443]
...
E: Failed to fetch https://dl.bintray.com/loadimpact/deb/dists/stable/InRelease 403 Forbidden [IP: 3.124.176.138 443]
E: The repository 'https://dl.bintray.com/loadimpact/deb stable InRelease' is no longer signed.

this issue doesn't seem to be caused by Azure CLI. It's highly possible you will face the same issue following https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cli/azure/install-azure-cli-linux?pivots=apt

Could you check if you have other Linux repos added which could cause the 403 failure?

ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

Then you may delete the problematic https://dl.bintray.com/loadimpact/deb and try again.

Solution 2:

I would like to mention that az upgrade is currently not actively maintained. You may try to manually update the package following https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cli/azure/install-azure-cli.
