Search queries with periods

Search queries containing "." are interpreted as file extensions and not passed as a parameter to the DK search. For example, a search for AP.001 shows "Results for 'AP' "

Fixed period results but new bug appeared where once a search with a period has been made, other searches do not register until a different page is visited. Trying each command individually seems to change the page properly, but as written something is rejecting the change.
