Edit Previous Recording goes to Loading Skeleton Screen to Unexpectedly App Crash

Description

When I clicked on Previous Recordings button, and then clicked on edit recording.
I got into the edit screen, but I can only see the loading skeleton, and then the app unexpectedly crashes.

Reproduction

1. Open Cap.so
2. Click Previous Recordings Button
3. Click on edit button on any previous Recording
4. You will reach the screen with the loading skeleton

This looks related to several macOS Tahoe (26.x) stability issues that have been addressed recently:

Related issues:

• #1779 - Crashing on macOS Tahoe 26.4 (closed after fix was applied) - similar crash pattern on 0.4.84
• #1537 - App crashes when opening file on MacBook Air M1 with macOS Tahoe 26.2
• #1781 - Spins indefinitely when trying to open recordings

The fix: PR #1777 (macOS desktop crash hardening) was merged on May 1st and includes crash fixes for:

• Panic handling in ScreenCaptureKit callbacks
• Window lifecycle guards
• Audio buffer validation

This was merged after v0.4.84 was released (April 15th). Version 0.4.85 is in progress and should include these fixes.

Codebase context: The editor loading flow starts in apps/desktop/src/routes/editor/Editor.tsx which calls createEditorInstance (line 107 in context.ts, backed by create_editor_instance_impl in apps/desktop/src-tauri/src/lib.rs:5269). The crash during loading skeleton likely originates in the Rust side when initializing the GPU context or loading the recording metadata.

For logs: On macOS, logs should be at /Users/{username}/Library/Logs/so.cap.desktop/. If you can locate them, they would help confirm whether this is the same crash pattern addressed in #1777.
