Three output ways are available.
At least one should be selected.
Sound device output, software version only
------------------------------------------
The module produces sound and sends to the Jackaudio system to be physically played.
The module can be instantiated only once. It is incompatible with the file output.
The software installs the peers and connects according with data:
* -j - connects the channels to the inputs of the X42-scope software.
* -j . connects to the system outputs.
* -j <filename> connects according with the data found in the file. It is PLANNED.
The first -j option switches to this mode. More than one can be specified, but they may overlap.
The base wave-form is the default from the compilation. It can be overwritten at start-up.
The sample rate is defined by Jackaudio. The sample rate limits can be provided. If Jackaudio is out of the limits, the software quits.
The on the fly sample rate change (from Jackaudio) is NOT supported.
Sound device output, hardware only

The module produces the sound according with the configuration of the hardware, the FPGA, the PCB etc....
There is no reason to have any configuration.
The base waveform is non configurable as well.
File output, software version only
----------------------------------
This module produces sound and write to a file to be played later. An third party software should be installed to play-back.
Only one file at a time can be selected. It is incompatible with the sound device output.
The format is the raw data. One file contains all the channels in interleave mode. Many data format are available, from 8 bits signed to 32 bits signed. The float is planned.
The base wave-form is the default from the compilation. It can be overwritten at start-up.
The sample rate can be chosen. The default is 48KHz.
If the continuous base wave-form is selected, low sample rates are allowed ( 3KHz, 6KHz and 12KHz ). It is intended to view the envelope of the sound signal. Used with the 8 bits raw format, the file can be up to 32 times smaller.
*** DO NOT TRY to send it to real devices such as loudspeakers or earphones ***.
Parameters output, software version only

Many modules produce parameters, see the README.parameters for details.
They are all compatible with the sound output described above. The can run stand alone.
They issue the commands the system received from one or more input parameters channels.
Goals are multiple: real time monitor what is produced, test the software, test a parameters file, convert from one format to another etc...
