Feature-gate `transport` in protobuf definitions

This is generally a problem ecosystem-wide. See here for one solution: cosmos/ibc-proto-rs#240

Good initiative to dig into root causes and very happy for some solution here. Let's see if there some movement on the tonic issue soon. If not, happy for some "hacky" solution like your ibc-proto-rs stuff.

If you are going to be messing with the protobuf files, we have a lot of dups using ibc-proto-rs and cosmos-sdk-proto in various parts, as well as our own proto, cuz I couldn't build a grpc server with their versions. sigh.

I would honestly like to avoid any imports of other autogen proto files from elsewhere. Maybe we can migrate from cosmrs to climb internally and then remove many of those deps anyway. This is another issue, but just trying to sketch out where I would like to head if you do undertake a refactor of the protobuf generation tooling

yeah, I hit the same problem clientside. Caught this issue brewing and commented on it just yesterday cometbft/tendermint-rs#1462 (comment) ;)

Nice to see you have Tony on your side and pushing for this.
He is well known and respected in the (cosmos) rust community, hopefully this will lead to easier to use tooling
