Non-rounded clip corners in the timeline

Thank you for your enhancement submission. I am a volunteer user and not a developer and would like some clarification on your request. Once I have that I will put this in the queue for the lead developer to review.

1. Please provide a screenshot of where you are seeing the "rounded corners". In OpenShot v3.4.0, the Clips on the timeline have square corners and not rounded corners.
2. An example of how you are currently loosing precise editing. As much detail as possible.
3. For "pro" theme. Please provide details and examples. Screenshot would be great as well.

currently this depends on the theme you are using, retro theme with the yellow clips has sharp corners, but the other themes (the og theme & cosmic dusk) have rounded corners. you can change themes under edit > preferences > general > default theme

for point 2 i think the op means sharp corners would make it easier to see where the edges of the clips line up to the time scale and markers above the clips, so editing clips down to the frame would be easier

All makes sense now, thank you. I was aware of the rounded corners in the other themes but I failed to understand the "precision" part. However, in your examples (screenshots), the lower tracks would lose some of the precision as you are further apart from the timeline.

Both Cosmic Dusk and Humanity:Dark went through quite a bit of UI redesign so I am not sure what the lead developer do about it. However, I like the idea of a toggle in Edit | Preferences to manage the behavior.

As I was thinking a bit more, I thought what might really be nice, in addition to Preferences, is that when you select clip, the position values of the left edge and the right edge of the clips will be displayed on the timeline (right above the Cache Bar). This can be problematic if you select multiple clips so may be limit it to a single clip selection only.

Another option would be that the handle of the Playhead always displays the time/frame of wherever it is on the timeline.

I will assign this to the lead developer and put it in the Enhancement queue. He will need to review it, then approve or reject it. If approved, it will get in the queue and ultimately he will decide how to implement the final solution.
