What happened?
installing ubuntu log"vmwgfx seems to be running on an unsupported hypervisor".
When I was installing the Ubuntu virtual machine using VirtualBox, I found that the installation could not be completed normally.
The reason is that VirtualBox uses VMSVGA by default, and there are compatibility issues with Ubuntu 24.04.4 for VMSVGA in VirtualBox.
Especially since I used the unattended installation method. I left it running in the background for a long time, only to find that the installation had failed when I checked back.
Incidentally, I'd like to offer an optimization suggestion.
When creating a new virtual machine, the only hardware settings available are for the CPU and memory. Other hardware settings can only be adjusted after the virtual machine is created.
This leads to a problem. Even if I asked an AI and learned that selecting VBoxSVGA could avoid the compatibility issue, I couldn't use the unattended installation method. because the unattended installation option, the virtual machine will automatically start the system installation after its creation, leaving no step for hardware adjustment.
I hope that after checking the "Unattended Installation" option, it will be possible to choose not to automatically start the virtual machine. After adjusting the hardware, the virtual machine will be automatically installed in the background when it is started.
How can we reproduce this?
Just need to install the Ubuntu virtual machine.
Did you upload all of your necessary log files, screenshots, etc.?
