Docker-compose and Docker Machine commands don't work

The Eclipse Docker Tooling component hasn't been updated yet to the new Docker desktop environment. Docker Toolbox and Docker machine as executable commands are deprecated, but the Docker preferences in Eclipse (Window->preferences->Docker) still requires them to function. Could it be possible to update these to the new Docker environment?

Also the links in Eclipse Marketplace (support / wiki) are outdated.

I don't think it's too complicated. As far as I can see Docker ToolBox used two executable commands (docker-compose.exe and docker-machine.exe that have been hardcoded in the settings of Eclipse Docker Plugin. Apparently the new Docker has relocated these. I have done some further research and docker compose is located in:

C:\Program Files\Docker\Docker\resources\bin
(at least, following the folder where I installed Docker)

Filling that in window->preferences->Docker->Docker Compose seemed to do the trick (got another error, will look into that tomorrow)

I haven't got a clue where /how docker machine is implemented in the new situation.

I have posted a patch for both master and stable-8.23 that changes the default Windows paths for the two commands to the C:\Program Files\Docker\Docker\resources\bin directory. Stable 8.23 will be used to create the final build for the 8.23 release for Eclipse 2026-06.
