Default zoom in icon view does nothing.

Setting the default icon view zoom does nothing https://imgur.com/SQvjDCK even after a restart of the program. For some reason changing the default zoom of the list view and compact view does work though https://imgur.com/NBjaNle. I've also turned on ignoring per-folder preferences, so it can't be that.

Install nemo 3.6.5 on ubuntu 18.04
Open nemo
Put default icon view zoom on something other than 50%
Restart nemo.

The zoom level is always 33%

I installed nemo using aptitude, maybe using snap or flatpak might fix the issue.

Your version of nemo is EOL. update to nemo-4.6.x

I'm not able to reproduce this issue. Changing the default icon view zoom level holds to whatever I have changed it after a restart.

Seeing this issue in Nemo 6.0.2, Mint 21.3 Edge.
Default zoom level now doesn't work for all 3 views (icon, list, compact).

Hey guys, I though the same and after running some tests I figured out what happens.
If you, in any folder, zoom in or out, Nemo will automatically save that zoom viewing the way you leave it. That means it is not default anymore, even if you zoom in/out and put it back to default zoom level. It will do that only if you play with zoom, if you don't touch it, it will remain default. For the ones that you didn't touch the default zoom configuration it will work for the 3 views (Icon, List and Compact) as expected. But if you got a folder you previously played with zoom it will do nothing because it will keep the zoom configuration you put before giving the impression it does nothing. To validate it you can change default zoom to ridiculous 400% and start navigating into folders and subfolders. Once you reach one that you never touched the zoom level it will show icons ridiculous big.

UPDATE: It doesn't matter if you play the zoom, once you enter a folder Nemo will remember that zoom config when you where there. For folders never visited you will see the default zoom configured being applied.

@alex-veri, this is the normal behavior in Nemo - each folder can be customized and will remember any view customization (sort column, icon size, etc...).

You can reset this behavior (clear existing metadata) by going to Edit->View->Reset View to Defaults. It will then once again follow whatever defaults you have set in preferences.

You can also skip per-folder metadata entirely by unchecking Preferences->Behavior->Ignore per-folder view preferences.

If this is what OP was experiencing also, then we could consider this whole thing 'not a bug'.
