Add example sketches for all p5.AudioVoice methods in p5.Sound reference

Increasing Access

The p5.Sound reference pages currently lack live examples. This issue is specifically for the p5.AudioVoice class. Without examples, it’s hard for users to see how each method behaves in a sketch.

Add one or more simple example sketches demonstrating each of the following p5.AudioVoice methods:

• p5.AudioVoice
• connect()
• disconnect()

Feel free to add one example or multiple examples for any of these methods and submit a PR.

A pull request that updates the p5.sound reference documentation with at least one working code example per method, so that users can immediately copy, paste, and run each sketch to learn how p5.AudioVoice works.

I’m interested in working on this issue as part of my open-source journey.
Just to confirm should I add simple working code examples for the p5.AudioVoice.connect() and disconnect() methods directly in the reference documentation?
I’ll make sure the sketches are clear, beginner-friendly, and easy to run in the p5.js web editor.

Hi @ugec67 , I apologize for the confusion. I originally thought the reference docs lived in the p5.js-website repo at
https://github.com/processing/p5.js-website/tree/2.0/src/content/reference/en/p5.sound, but they’re actually auto‑generated from the inline docs in the p5.Sound code. We need to update those inline docs in p5.Sound rather than working on the website repo. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to transfer the issue to the sound repo @ksen0 , could you please move it to the p5.sound repository? Thank you!

Thank you so much for the clarification, and no problem at all regarding the confusion! I’m still very much interested in contributing to this issue. Please feel free to assign it to me in the p5.js-sound repository whenever it's convenient.

p5.AudioVoice is a class in the original p5.sound library which can be found here:
https://github.com/processing/p5.js-sound

This issue should be moved to that repo! I'l leave it open for a bit if that makes moving it over easier.

This issue is of the same type as Audio In methods examples I would take this on along with the AudioVoice examples, I am starting to work on it and I will raise PRs for both of them as soon as possible.
