The model always receives the complete current documents, so it CAN check what exists; now the prompt demands it: before adding anything, search for an existing entry about the same story and extend it — a twin entry is the failure mode. …moved Maxim's call: «давал бы ему обновления по сессии — он сам разберётся». He was right — the 40K run budget treated a symptom. The timeout it was added for came from PACKING several sessions into one call, not from session size; the session is the natural narrative unit and the watermark was per-session already. Now: one call per session (its unseen tail, oldest session first). A failed session halts its project for the run — later sessions continue earlier stories, and distilling them out of order would write the ending before the beginning. Each changed project gets its own commit. No spillover concept: one run digests the whole backlog and is safely interruptible, since marks advance chapter by chapter. The only size threshold left lives at the level of ONE call: a marathon session splits into sequential chapters (MAX_CALL_CHARS, 60K), later chapters seeing the documents earlier ones updated.
