@bedroge I simplified this based on recent changes, but in general I see quite a few modules that fail to load (like https://github.com/EESSI/api_data/actions/runs/27139725448/job/80101359862#step:5:668 )...do you know why that is?

I don't know, and I can't reproduce that on my laptop, where I can load e.g. OSU-Micro-Benchmarks/7.5.1-gompi-2025b without any issues...

And it's also happening for software.eessi.io now? Something weird is going on... is it filling up the disk or something?

@bedroge I suspect a dodgy Lmod cache situation. Where is Lmod getting the cache when there is a disconnect between compat arch and software modules?

Well, at least I know now what's going wrong, the MODULEPATH being used is not correct
