Game version differences

There are two known versions of the released game which has little differences

• 1.0 - Initial issue - REDRIVER2 is based on 1.0 Italian
• 1.1 - Second issue which is known as Greatest Hits in US and Platinum in EU

We'll look at differences between first and second issues.

Code differences:

• different height map code

Content differences from 1.0:

• Rebuilt level files
• Havana - attempt to fix secret base rendering performance by de-hardcoding with using surface indexes
• Chicago - blocked road near "Chicago Water Tower" landmark\
• Chicago - barriers appear raised while 1.0 has them not

"Bootleg" versions

Beta and Release candidate versions of the game Known versions:

• v5.4 or v5.5 (Oct 1 2000)
• v5.6 Code Review (Oct 10 2000)

Content of these versions is playable in REDRIVER2 and 1.0 but certain missions may crash

Other versions

Demo:

• v1.6 alpha (Aug 11 2000) - Euro Demo 64
• v1.7 alpha (Aug 15 2000) - NTSC Demo

Content of these versions is playable in REDRIVER2 only but game is highly unstable due to lots of code differences
