v1.3, v1.6, v1.9, and v1.12 are the currently supported LTS releases: https://github.com/tektoncd/pipeline/blob/main/releases.md

Non-LTS releases are generally EOL once the following release is available.

Thanks for the clarification Alan. In the community docs it says LTS versions are supported until x.y+3, I guess that's referring to three LTS releases, not just three versions. I'll update

Yeah looking at the release tags and branches section of the doc it could definitely be made clearer. The start of the doc is slightly better:

The Tekton project maintains four release branches for each project, created one every three months, which results in a overall support window of approximately one year for each of these releases.

This approach means that Tekton supports four releases at any point in time, called long term support (LTS) releases.
