GRating Rebalancer Wiki

GRating Rebalancer is a Calibre GUI plugin that turns Goodreads rating data into library-relative scores. It reads Goodreads rating and vote-count identifiers, compares books against the rest of your Calibre library, and writes results to custom columns you choose.

What It Does

GRating Rebalancer writes a raw 0.0-100.0 Output percentile and can optionally write a shaped Rating value such as a decimal, custom range, or Calibre star rating.

The plugin never writes to the source Goodreads identifiers:

  • grrating
  • grvotes

The Output column is the stable raw score. Distribution settings only affect the optional Rating field.

Typical Workflow

  1. Install the plugin zip in Calibre.
  2. Make sure books have grrating and grvotes identifiers.
  3. Create a numeric custom column for Output.
  4. Optionally create or choose a Rating destination.
  5. Configure GRating Rebalancer.
  6. Select books and run GRating RB.
  7. Lock the generated map if you want stable future results.
